Are Spyder owners finding valves out of adjustment during recommended maint?

What's is the information you found.
I just typed valve adjustment in the search and found mostly that that valve adjustment has not been an issue. Some let it go and others follow the factory recommendations. I really wanted to find out if owners were getting a lot of (within specs) answers from the repairmen. If so, would make me wonder if they really were doing the inspection.

I have talked to my tech guy and it seems that valve clearance is not an issue with most units he has checked. The clearances are built loose and they seem to hold their clearances. Because of this, most do not want to spend big money to have them checked. Not me. I want to know if they are within specs and want to know if I am paying for it, what are my clearances so that if there is a valve that is on the tight side but allowable to let me know. Warranty is my concern, just in case something happens. BRP knows who has had their units checked.

Right on. I had a 2001 Goldwing that was running perfectly and when the 32,000 mile valve adjustment came up, 2 valves on one side were mysteriously not adjustable to be within limits. It was out of warranty a little, so it became my problem. The Honda folks in Canton, GA foune a guy in Columbia, SC who supposedly can do anything to a piece of metal. Think he charged $1200 including shipping and returned the head in 1 week with all new valve seats and what ever else he did. Mike checked it over and it was perfect. Saved me a bunch - Honda wanted something like $100 a month for the rest of my life for it. You can bet my Spyder will be checked at 12,000 miles or when ever it comes up in the future (hopefull it'll be extended to 24,000 or more.)

I had mine checked at a little over 53000 miles and all valves were still in spec. My dealer told me that out of all the Spyders they have checked only one needed to have shims added. The owner of the dealership was pretty impressed that with that many miles on that everything was still in spec.
