Greetings fellow Spyder owners..
I have two questions about my 201 RS-SM5. Has anyone messed with the headlight alignment? My left light is a bit higher than the right and I would love to have them closer aligned..
Second question is has anyone had a hesitation when starting from a stop? It isnt aweful, and its only stalled on me a few times but started up again immediatly.. but I would love to have a better throttle response without getting into major component change. I have been debating on a K&N oiless ait filter as it helps by Jeep a bit with throttle response and figured that could be a cheaper posibility but I am not sure if the slight hesitation is typical?
I would ask my dealer as they are an awesome company but I bought the Spyder in DE a few hours away and havent had the time to go back yet during there operating hours. Even did the 600 mile oil change myself.. that was fun! Actually wasnt bad.. a few panels removed, an oil catch pan that didnt quite fit under the bike.. good times.
Also since I am pontifiating, I am about to purchase a Corbin seat, front and rear with a rear passenger backrest for the wife.. Corbin because the majority of the feedeback I see is positive and partly because I cant find any other makers of seats other than the Russel day long seats but the site is confusing and I figure out what I would need to order or if I really like the seats..

Anyway.. thanks for the info and talk to yall soon!

There is a headlight alignment procedure in your owners manuel. It just takes a long Phillips screwdriver.
As far as the seat is concerned, I agree the stock seat leaves much to be desired. I have the Russell seat and love it. I didn't find it complicated at all. In fact I think it's nice to have choices. Call them if you have questions. They are very nice. The only downside of the Russell is you have to send your seat in to be remade. I bought one on the buy and sell thread on spyderlovers and used it to be rebuilt. Lots of people have the corbins. In fact you will see used ones for sale every now and then here and on spyderlovers. Never seen a Russell for sale though. Wonder why :TgC_emoticon142:

Hi Larry,
Regarding the hesitation; Spyder's are very lean from the factory and I would hesitate going to a High flow air filter. If your bike is bone stock I would get the O2 modifier from Custom Dynamics. I just installed the old one I had on my wife's stock SE5 2 days ago and made a huge improvement. A high flow air filter would only benefit with a high flow exhaust and a Juice Box, Pro, or Power Commander. You will need more fuel if you go that route. The Spyder's ecm is a disaster in the low to mid rpm ranges when handling the fuel mix. PM me and we can chat more if you have any questions. I can share my experience with you and there are many others that have complained of the same stumble issue. On a stock machine the O2 mod is the best investment. Hands down.
