Hi all, just joined! I just bought a 2010 rs-s se5 and I love it!! My only issue is that there seems to be a ticking type noise that comes from the front left wheel area when I'm riding. It's not always there and it happens at all different speeds. It comes and goes all the time as I ride. I have a Leo Vince exhaust without the baffle in and I can still hear this ticking type sound so it's pretty loud. Any idea what it could be? Any help would be appreciated. I've never driven any other spyder so I don't know if it's a normal sound or not. Thanks!!

Just took the spyder out and the noise started after about 5 minutes of riding and it almost sounds mechanical if that makes sense. The noise would last about 1 minute And go away then come back after a few minutes, it's very annoying at the least! Def sounds like it's coming froo the left wheel area. Thanks

Have the dealer look at the brake pads. mine did the same thing and still does every now and then. The inside pads for some reason hang up ever so slightly on the left front inside now and then . hopes this helps

Check the wheel weights on the left wheel for rubbing. Another rider reported that the cotter pin was rubbing the weight cutting a grove in it. I would also check the brakes and rotor.

I have the same sound but it is almost a squeak but intermittent and the dealer says it comes from the belt and cannot be stopped- he did adjust the best but it is still there/ Joanjen

HI all, I have had the same slight ticking from time to time on my 09 RS and it only happens until I get up to about 10 MPH. I thought it might be a small rock in the tread. I will also be checking pin and weight and if I do not find it, I will get brakes checked on my next service. Is weird that it only happens once and a while.

Guys, Stop worrying too much. This subject has been discussed many times on another site and the general opinion is that the drillings in the disc causes the noise as the air pressure passes by the brake pads. Many have tried all sorts of things to stop it without much luck. Now as for the squeeling, that is another matter. Do a search and you should find some information to help you.

That's a relief but it's still a bit annoying!! Can you say what site the topic was discussed on, I would like to read more about it. I checked the weights and looked for rocks and nothing but I still get the ticking noise every now and then. Yesterday not at all and today almost for the entire ride. It's odd that it's on and off and only on one side.....anyway, thanks for the help!
