I have noticed a lot of posts stating that 'painting parts I baked it in the sun' or 'let it dry overnight'. I have never seen anyone say they used a primer, or a self etching primer. I humbly suggest before you do ANY spray painting use a SELF ETCHING PRIMER. It will make the paint stick a ton better than just painting bare metal. It is usually gray, but I think you'll find other colors. Be careful if you use this around ANY thing you DON'T want painted. Self etching means exactly what it says. You can spray this stuff on glass and it will etch it. I have found this not only makes the paint stick better, it gives it a nicer finish. The stuff in not cheap, but for what it does, and how long it lasts, to me it's worth it. My .02 worth.
