Hello there guys and gals, I started to look into the spyder and have to tell you that alot of info that Im getting that seems like theres alot of problems out there with these machines. Now I do realize that alot of people come to these forums for help only when soemthing goes wrong, and the people that are haveing problems are actually a small number compared to how many of them are on the road. So based on this the real question is how many are having problems that are not on the forum? This leads me to ask my fellow forum Talkers some questions and I hope you can help?

1: Are there some years better then others as far as relibility? (I am looking at 2008 to 2011 RS or GS.)

2: What are the common problems between years?

3: Are these machines easy to work on or do you absolutly need to take them to the dealer? (Im a hands on guy.) :)

When you give your opinions dont take money into consideration due to the fact that if theres a better model than another I will either just get it or save up for it until I get what I want. However, cheaper the better for obvious reasons. (More cash in the hand)

Any other additional information would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Do not let the problems expressed on this or any forum stop you.. The ratio of Spyder riders to forum posters is much higher and is only a minor cross section of the machines.. No matter the Machine if you go to their related forums you will find negatives and tech problems with every one of them..

If you want one buy one - just remember that every machine, toy, hobbie and animal is high mait.. You must either be a doer or a payer ( AAble to fix your opwn or have the money to have it down).

I love

Ohh I very much agree with you. I only wanted to know of common problems ahead of time and maybe a year of a ride that had less problems then the others. I would like to get one that is red and I dont think that they made red in every year. What years can I get a red one guys?
Also I was woundering how easy they are to work on. I do have skills and tools to boot, Im also very willing to learn. Thanks for the reply.
