Hello from a cold and snowy Seattle!
After losing 130 pounds of ugly weight (I divorced her) I am looking to buy a used RS.
I have been reading pretty much every post here and I feel confident on buying a used RS but maybe there might be some specific questions that need to be asked.
I see that some of you all have had some heat issues, I will ask about that.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and I hope to do some riding with ya'll this summer.

Welcome Dan.
First of all, there are ways go get around the heat. This time of year, the heat is welcome in most places. The biggest question to ask is: Has the DPS replacement been done yet? This is a Dynamic Power Steering replacement that is to be done on all spyders. It is a recall by the factory. If you are buying local, ask the seller where he had his service done and how he liked them. The dealer will be able to put the spyder on his computer and tell you what has been done and what may need to be done as far as update, recalls, etc.
Then after that, ride it like you stole it and have a safe, great time. Maybe see you in Cuba, Mo in late April at Spyderfest and/or Spyders in the Smokies (SITS) next fall.
BTW, I have an 08 and I really don't have any heat issues. Of course, I don't ride in sandals either. There have been several who have developed shields to direct the air flow away from the feet and lower legs if it becomes an issue.
