Has your DPS been changed yet?

At least one of three things is happening.
1. BRP doesn't care about the safety of the customers.
2. My dealer is not telling me the truth
3. The recall is being completely mismanaged.
Right now, I'm voting for 2 and 3.
BTW my dealer is Stller Motorsports in Kittanning, PA.
My RT is showing signs of notching and is hard to steer. I told the dealer and he more or less shrugged and said sorry.

My dealer in Bradenton FL said he sent back 16 units 3 weeks ago and has not had 1 returned from BRP. Appearently BRP is having production problems, and is probably trying to make sure that the 2011 models are updated before sending them out, putting us on the back burner.

Yeah, I was told that mine was the second request for the service.
Strange but I know of three other Spyders from the same dealership that were serviced.
So try as I might I am having a hard time believing that someone isn't telling me the truth.
BRP obviously doesn't care because they haven't bothered to reply to me.
Would Honda treat GoldWing owners this a way? Methinks not.

I called BRP's Customer Service number.
After tracking down my VIN number, address and (seemingly) whether or not I preferred baths to showers the Rep said he was there to help me.
Great, I went through the entire rigamaroll and he then asked me how many DPS were shipped to my dealer.
Huh? Double Huh?
My reply was "Don't you care about this?"
"Yes sir, if we didn't there wouldn't be any one answering the phones".
Huh? Double Huh?
I resisted the temptation to explain that operating & manning a call center for 6 product lines wasn't exactly the same thing as replacing parts that someone determined to be a safety risk.
Anyway, that's where it stands.
I promise to update here and elsewhere all the good and the bad.
If people step up to plate and do the right thing I'll report it; if not I'll report that too.

Okay.
Yippee.
This morning whilst I was out digging a ditch BRP called and told my Better Half that the parts for my RT were being shipped to my dealer, Stiller Motorsports.
I called the above mentioned dealer and sure enough they knew all about it and scheduled me for a service appointment pronto & post haste.
So, the old adage that the squeaky wheel gets the worm ... or is it the early bird gets oiled is true enough.
I hope that everyone else who is waiting for their parts gets them soon too.
End of monologue. Thanks & Good Day.

Steve Stiller is an OK guy.
I really think he and his team are trying.
I've found the best thing is to show up around opening time and smile a lot.
Call the BRP Customer Help line and explain if you don't think the dealership is doing its job.

+Yes, it is. If you've not yet acclimated yourself to calling your bike a "reverse trike", you're a century behind the curve.
Your reverse trike is also referred to as 2F1R (2 front 1 rear).
Get used to it.
Ride on.

I flogged my Spyder the 28 miles to my dealership for the DPS changeout.
Late in the day in like conditions (except it was dark) I drove it home.
I noticed a fairly dramatic improvement in the handling characteristics, - I think.
Maybe it is the placebo effect due to the the aggro ... I dunno.

People ask me if it's not broke why change it. 2 reasons why chance it and it's covered so it's free.
