I don't want to be Mr. Negative all the time, for real, but it's pretty hard not to with my experience and what I've heard from others.

See, you guys are seeing the other side of the coin. Not very many people with a Spyder like mine would make a trip to go to an event like SITS. There have been 3 SITS events since I've had mine, 2 of the years mine was in the shop, the other I would not have trusted it to make a 50 mile trip, much less 500+.

Again, not trying to be overly negative here, but those events are going to be filled with mostly reliable rides. ;)

We just traded our PE no. 200 (200th Spyder produced)and my 98 ST1100 Honda in on a RT. We had the basic recalls done to ours. Last summer we rode over 8K miles across the US. My Honda gave us more trouble than the Spyder. I have been very satisfied with our first Spyder. I was always prepared for the worst, but our unit just kept on going without any trouble at all.

Now..if I was having the same problems that I ve read about here and other forums, I would probably be talking to an attorney.
Introducing the CAN AM SPYDER!!!

Life is short. Don't be a dick.

I live in Michigan where we don't have the lemon law but anyone know of options for someone who has a lemon? My spyder keeps stalling has been in two different shops, one for two weeks the other for a month....still stalling. About ready to take it to a third shop ... no one seems to know what is wrong with it. It's a serious safety issue.....

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Do you still own the Spyder? Is the problem still happening? This sounds like the same problem I am experiencing and it has been to three dealrs to date. Two years of problems, no 1 month and counting. Between the dealer techs. and BRP techs. no end in sight. If you still own the Spyder and check in on the forum please respond. I would like to speak with you. Thanks

I don't understand how anyone who reads this fourm would buy a spyder. They are nothing but trouble, and ther's really nothing good to say about them. I had one for two years and was gald the day I sold it even that it cost me a lot of $$, but I'm glad to get rid of the darn thing and will try I talk anyone one out of buying one. If you have one sell it for what ever you can get out of the darn thing, if it hasn't gioven you trouble yet just wait, it will. They're all a piece of crap. Just my 2 cents.

Agreed: Avoid like the plague! My spyder time was fun.. when it was going in a forward motion. It was the forward movement that was the issue. I think it has more vertical miles than horizontal. I do know the vertical miles got better gas mileage than the horizontal ones.

Sorry if anyone has problems but individual issues should not paint every Spyder out there. We've had a ball with ours, one of our best investments ever. Plenty good to say for ours and for a lot of other owners we know and have spoken to over the years.
Speak for yourselves not for others. Your complaints make it sound like an agenda rather than a heads up or warning. :riding:
