sorry to have to bring this up at our 3rd yr running , buttttt> it really upsets me that the first yr of spyders in the smokies , i put pain staking ideas money and work into this , and lamont after it seeing it would be a hit , went behind my back and had a bbq at his house > did not offer to pay any expence of the first yr ,didnt even invite me !!!. for the world largest spyder owner event i came up with this idea for all spyder owners as a grass root , oct 20th 2007 . no frills no charge , stay were you can lets have fun @ a cost to me of 6k . then he has a bbq planned for spyderlovers 2 wks before the event . because he saw a big turn out . so he planned on riding my shirt tail on this, as he did with honda also, i chose marc and spydertalk.com because he contacted me first and came down from ny to tn to set up a meet ,this could work . we met nov 29 2007 with steve pickels @ the inn to plan the first ever brp can-am spyder owners for owners rally not having a clue > we have put so much work, time and money into this thing its crazy , most folks would have bailed out . but marc and i believed in it , and you !. hurts me to see on here and other forums to give credit were no credit is is due . i have turned the rights, logo and all aspects of spyders in the smokies fully to marc and craig . but that in now way i will see my dream and thought s . go to a single individual . this is not about us! it is about u ! the spyder owners and ryders> ins , setting up rides and on and on and on . i look on spyderlovers and see thanks lamont for doing all this for us makes me sick!. he road my shirt tail long enough for his benifit . many folks like him and that is fine . but he did not think of this idea and put no work or money into it for sits . . just me venting after 3 yrs sorry . lets see what i will unvaille for the ultimate spyder get together for 2011 . in the works friends

Hey Billy, hundreds of Spyders gathering in the Smokies every Sept will always be your brainchild. I knew Lamont liked to put on his picnic with all the SITS attendees in the area, so I told him Thursday night was free.

It's all about having a good time riding Spyders into Gatlinburg for SITS. We'll all have a great time.

I just wanted to say thanks to you Billie for your vision of a gathering of Spyders in the Smokies and for all the work you did that first memorable year and for your continued support of the event. Thanks also to Marc and Craig for all the work they have done to continue what you started 3 years ago. I can't imagine all the work that must go into this event. This will be our 3rd year at SITS and can't wait to see you guys and all of the rest of our Spyder friends. We always have a great time in Gatlinberg! :thumbs:

I'm really sad that I had to cancel out due to work commitments I cannot change. Next year will be different. I think a big thank you is due everyone who works hard to make the event fun for everyone. Certainly there is room for multiple events, multiple rides, etc. I really hate to see hard feelings caused over an event that brings so much fun to so many. Lamont doesn't take credit for the event - he simply offers his home up for a BBQ one evening, and apparently at a time he was told was free. The planning for this event is awesome. That's what makes it so disappointing to miss, but makes many of us look forward to the next one! Thanks for your hard work.

How well we remember you guys on that day.....I was so glad to be there to help you and Burl and so thankful to the good Lord that his injuries weren't any worse! Billy I'm truly sorry you feel this way. We sat face to face last year and you didn't say anything, I wish you would of because I don't like any hard feelings between anyone. I honestly had no idea you felt that way.

The first year I did the the BBQ was because that night was open and a bunch of my friends from the boards were going to be in my backyard and I had a open invitation to all of them. I'm sorry if I didn't personalty invite you but like I said the invitation was open to all. I've been doing BBQ's at my place for 8 years now with different groups of riders during events that were held in my backyard like the Honda Hoot.

Last year I had a direct link to SITS on the front page on my site and promoted it as a great Spyder event (your event). There was no kickback from you guys or fee for the promotion. I don't make a dime on my BBQ and the cost is paid for by a donation bucket. Last year it just paid for itself, I'm hoping it will this year but if it doesn't that's fine, I just want to have a good time with the folks I've come to love from the boards.

I have invited Marc and his crew every year only because I do have contact with him from time to time. He's the one that emailed me this year to tell me he left Thursday night open if I was going to have my BBQ again this year. I appreciate him doing that.

Even though we are two separate groups we still have the love for the same thing and that's the Spyder. I hate to see us splinter this small group over something like this Bro. I can see how you feel but my intent was not to ride your shirttails. I think it's great that you had this vision and that it is growing every year. I would hope that we could work together to make this even bigger next year. This is your guys event and you deserve the glory for it. I hope that we can be friends and that you will come out this year and we can shake hands on it Bro.

ok lamont thanx for responding , had a hard time with reading your post , though . my backyard , my friends , my site. and the word kickback . offends me , spyders in the smokies is a owners group for owners . any walk of life and anyone no matter what . thanx for posting on your site i did see that , we opened that night , for the group to go to your home because its about the owners . and choices . i dont see you on on our rides . or social contact with you only on the last day . and they did have to pay for drinks and sides last yr. for the free bbq . on your site you make it very competive about all your awards , and this and that . if you and your croney's are all in for EVERYONE how come evan . no magic neon has never contributed to the official event , and others . my friend mike corbin contributed to yours . . i think the real answer is the word < YOU> its all about you ! i have heard this in tn . people like you make me wish i never opened my mouth about things . i had over 6k put out on the first one , but i relished seeing all the smiles on everyones face . i dont have a web sponsers or anyone ,its about having fun and the party. yes mark and craig gave me 170.00 for the tables and chairs , they offerd, but that was all i took in. well this a closed issue . as long as everyone has a good time and this event stays grass roots , for the owners by the owners i will be good . and no more said , and yes i will sit again with you at the awards bbq on sat this yr . its not personal at all > ITS ALL ABOUT THE OWNERS !!!!!!!! see you next week

i can't speak for everyone so this is my view, i appreciate all of you guy's for the time and effort you put into an event that is open for all of us spyder ryders to enjoy. i don't know any of you personally, but i think you guy's care about us as if you know us personally and i am appreciative for all your hard work involved in putting this all together. hope you guy's as well as all the other attendees have a great few day's rekindling old friendships and making new lasting ones. everyone ride safe and enjoy yourselves.

and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
