i posted this on the spyderslover forum, thought you guys might want to try this ,seems to be working great
simple and cheap help from some of the heat on my RTS SM5 from the right side This is the right side splash shield under the spyder

I have not been under there. Did you cut the hole and place the vent or just place the vent over an existing hole??

I cut the hole then place vent with pop rivets

I took my splash pans off over a year ago. Don't know if it helped but it hasn't hurt. It still gets hot but it's not unbearable.
