the CHP, street cops and the shriffs all have their own inforcement policy.
my neighbor is a sheriff and he says he would never waste time pulling over a bike with lights.
but he says the CHP takes that a bit serious as it is more of a distraction on the highway.
and he said the street cops that he knows don't #*&% with white or yellow or green, but they will pull over sharp blue and red.
but he said as a rule of t8umb, anything that distracts the other drivers is illegal.
none the less I am pulling in 2 pods. I will pay the 18 dollar ticket. and have more visibility on dark roads.

I know what you mean, I am all about being more visable. I am thinking about getting the yellow with the yellow Spyder....It should look pretty cool.

they should be bright, easy to wire together and be reasonably priced.

I don't know who makes the best, but I ordered the ones made by street FX.
They seem to be a reputable company.
another thing that I got to add visibility from the side is Valve Caps for my ties.
they are blue and motion activated.
so when the spyder get to roll, the cap glows so essentially the inside of the rims light up with a blue line.

I definitely like that.
I meant to ask,"Are your lights ON all the time?"
Too bad there isn't a way to switch them off while in motion.
I mean other than an actual switch that you would have to operate.
Might be able to splice it into the Brake Pedal wiring or possibly add
a Plunger Switch to the Brake Pedal. That way it would only activate
as you were slowing down and at a stop light or what have you.
Not a perfect solution to the local laws, but close.

Right now it is just a switch under my seat so I have to turn it on or off at start up to save hassle.
but when I add the other 2 pods to the front, I will add a different switch, and I want it to work with the brake so I have to do some looking and figuring.
it would be cool if I would trigger it with both brake and clutch lever.
that way it flashed every time I shift too.

If everything were EASY to accomplish, where's the pride and satisfaction in that.
It's the hard work and struggle to figure it out, that makes you feel pretty good about the end result, right?

In Florida the Florida State Statute says that Red or Blue lights cannot be illuminated to the front and no blues illuminated to the rear. Reason being cop and ems impersonators. Just because you may be borderline illegal doesn't mean that you won't be stopped and shook down or ticketed by an overzealous cop.

The kit with 78 LED strips plus on/off remote switch, all the wiring etc was $199, then I added 1 mega stick and 2 mega grenades, so all In all I probably got $230ish in it. The cut'n'click strips work great because you can cut them down in sets of 3 LED or greater, that have a plug, so you just jump from one to the next with whatever length plug you need. I've finished since I took those pics, so I'll try to get some more pics tonight.

ps. here's the link to the kit and the other type lights if you want to look.....
