I have been using a Scala Q2 and it works just fine -- but, I have not tested it for intercom. But, intercom has been their primary purpose for most folks.

I now have a Scala Q4 (Q2 will go on my spare helmet) and I love it even more. Online updates, setting the radio on a menu screen, stereo audio. Great technology move by Cardo to the new Scala Q4. I got if for $185.44 plus shipping on Ebay.

Hi give Dale McLean a ring at DMME. Look them up on google. I have a starcom 1. Its is really good but some of the blutooth intercoms are excellent. Dale supplies all types of intercoms, and tries then on his old Ducati!! Tell him Bruce S recommended you. Na Dale is good and knows his stuff, never had an issue that wasnt fixed immeadiatly. Bruce.

I've been using the Scala Rider Q2 for about 6 months. Works great as an intercom. Blue tooth, so no cables. Worth a try.

I have a Scala teamset.....rider to rider.....connects to phone and GPS etc. Cheaper than the Q2, Q4, but no bike to bike.
Sound is a little scratchy, but clear enough. You can put your MP3 through it but sounds crap.
Battery lasts a long time before charging.
Pretty happy with it generally for the price.
