I'm trying to install my Robobrackets and the holes in the windshield do not line up with the bracket. I assume that I'm doing something wrong -- though I have tried every arrangement of the brackets I can think of. When I line up the holes on one side of the windshield -- it's the one from Madstad -- with the brackets, the other holes are 1/2 to 1 inch further out.

I am assuming that the brackets are not correctly attached to the plate and that the holes are actually correct. I'm attaching a couple of IPhone shots -- sorry for the quality -- of the plate and the attached brackets.

Can anyone see if I have the brackets installed wrong?

Thanks....

Looks just like mine... I measured the screen by putting a piece of string from center of hole to center and it measured about 8 3/4 inches between the top 2 holes... hope this helps...

Hmmm....I just measured the center to center upper holes on my windshield and it is close to 8 3/4. But the same measurement on the top holes of the brackets -- even crudely measured -- isn't much more than 7 3/4. I must have the wrong shield or the wrong brackets.

Thanks for responding.

Try leaving the screws holding the bracket loose until you get the windshild screws in and see what it looks like when you start tighten them...

Ken,
Did you buy a windshield from Madstad with the Robobracket? If not, you have to drill new holes in the windshield as the factory holes do not fit the Robobracket. I have a 23" BRP touring windshield and had to drill 4 new holes.

Good luck with it -- you'll love it once it's installed -- mine is great.

YMMV,
Ryde far,
Rod.

The CanAm Highway goes from Texas along U.S. Route 85 and Interstate 25 into Saskatchewan, Canada. The CanAm highway in Canada is Saskatchewan highways SK 35, SK 39, SK 6, SK 3, and SK 2. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CanAm_Highway>

Yep. I bought the smoked, 22 inch windshield from Madstad.

I'm really surprised, given the obvious quality of the product and Madstad's reputation here, that it didn't simply fit. This is why I assumed
that I had made a mistake when I installed the brackets. But the instructions are clear about the position and orientation of the brackets so
I'm fairly sure they are on right.

Thank to all for the suggestions. I'll call Madstad first thing tomorrow morning.

Look ok to me. I recently installed one on mine few weeks ago. I remember being confused at first and it took me 40 minutes to finally figure it out and put it on then it took me 6 tries to get the right adjustment for my sweet spot. Of course, I also had to ask Mark some questions on the adjustment.

But after all the trouble, it was worth it!

Good luck!

Viewing mine to yours, it looks correct. It appears the holes in the windshield must be off.

Definitely keep the screws loose until they're all on. Because of the curve in the shield the measurements could be off if you tighten it down 1 screw at a time. Haven't found my sweet spot yet but absolutely love the product and difference it made already. Just wish it was easier to adjust.
