Yes it's true, mine have started 350 miles. The good thing is I know how to fix it due to having the Roadster.

I noticed it, too. Lousy way to promote the RT! At least we know the video wasn't edited. Posted Image

I had on the roadster also, but they had been unable to resolve it. new pads still no luck. How did you resolve yours? I hope my RT doesn't do it!! :TgC_emoticon142:

Only "squeak" I had was on the rear brake, and only after being parked overnight in the garage, below 50 degrees. Once I was out of the garage it went away within a few hundred feet.
Solved the issue by cleaning the rear pads, so for me it is far from the "squeaky" front brakes are on the original GS model. :TgC_emoticon142:

Point is... after 3 years and a complete redesign.. and the polls showing the depth and breath of the issue, one would have thought it would have been resolved. Disc brakes have been around since the 1960s or later. It is not a new or ground breaking design. In addition, I can go and purchase several brands of brake pads for the Jag, and from what I can tell, the ONLY place I can get replacement pads for the Spyder is BRP. Lastly, the Spyder RT is NOT (statically speaking) a daily driver as the Jag would be. So, based on that... I would have thought it would have been addressed. That is my point.

My point, it is my money and I don't see this as a major issue, I have had brand new $50k cars with issues, noting is perfect in this world. :TgC_emoticon142:

Amazing that complaints come from people that have not purchased an RT.

And just as with the Jaguar's we sell , not every one does it. I can sell 10 XKS models and see 4 or so with a squeal complaint. (I also sell 16 different brands from Ford to Toyota to Subaru and they all exhibit squeak in some lines and models to a certain extent, but I used the XKS as a example of a high end product using very expensive brakes that squeal , you want real squeal , upgrade to the Brembo top of the line brakes ...)
Yes , disk brakes have been out a long time ,and they did perfect them , and then asbestos became a no no. Now man made materials such as ceramic compounds are mixed with copper and soft metals to create a pad that 1) Performs its primary goal of stopping without fade in a short a distance as possible and 2) Has reasonable wear characteristics . Not all spyders squealed just as not all cars squeal, driving habits , moisture (Humidity) and road conditions (dust/grime) all combine to make the resonance different in each situation. For instance our XKS customers that drive more aggressively? No squeal, some may think this is opposite of what the norm is but our "around town, older drivers" drivers get the squeal issue. Every pad is different.
Lastly , you can certainly (as you state) buy aftermarket pads for the Jag. You can also use the antisqueal option (CRC as stated or another is BG antisqueal) which are way less expensive and offer comparable results. No manufacturer will use these products however due to liability. While they have proven safe and effective , todays Tort issues preclude any car or bike manufacturer from endorsing a fluid being soaked into the pads.
I'm not stating these points to argue but rather point out that "if" this was an exact science , no disc brake would squeal from any manufacturer. We all know thats not the case by just listening at an intersection of a busy city. Either all 200 or so brake manufacturers are screwed up or we have to face reality that a friction material (metals in the pad) rubbing on a friction material (the rotor) can in certain instances squeal on any brake system.
Last point- when we owned 2 Spyders, my Spyder squealed like a banshee and my wifes didn't. I used BG anti squeal and roughed up the pads and the next couple thousand miles were squeal free. Even though she rode more miles than me , hers never did it. This is an example of identical brakes , that were treated differently (she is a harder brake user , I downshift way more) that ended up with different results.

You may have a point, I ride with less braking and more downshifting.I noticed the harder I braked the squeal would go away.
