Well gang, even though my driveway still is packed with snow...I think Spyder weather is getting close. It's been a great year riding sleds, but I will be rearranging my garage soon!
We have some fun things planned for SpyderTalk in 2010. We'll be announcing new features in a newsletter soon...and we'll also be sharing details on Spyders in the Smokies 2010 shortly.
How many northerners like me are getting Spyder Fever?

Looks very much like Norway. The roads are clear hear as the last days have been "warm" 0 to +10 at daytime. So yesterday I had my first
ride in 2010. I have been 2.5 month with waiting. Looking forward to more warm weather.

We don't have the snow that you have, it is foggy this morning. Temps have gotten up to 40F -50F. The roads are clear just can't get out of the back lane yet. By the time I get my RT-S (by the end of March)the weather should be good enough for me to ride it home.

We are supposed to have temps in the 40F's this weekend, so we should have a big melt down. You can just start to see my driveway in the first pic...literally haven't seen stone since early January. Unless we get a mid March storm (which we often do)...I should have the Spyder out within a week or two. I have plenty of snowmobile gear to keep me warm.
Only bummer for me transitioning from snowmobiling to Spyder riding is my 15 yr old son has to ride on the back of the Spyder instead of on his own sled. Nothing better than those dad/son rides this Winter.

I'm doing the opposite transition this week. I've been ryding the Spyder all "winter" in So. Cal, but I'm off to Alaska this weekend for a conference and I'm sneaking away to do an all-day snowmobile tour. Any advice for a first-time snowmobile rider? Do they handle at all like my spyder? Should be a blast!

Actually, riding a Spyder will be perfect training for snowmobiling. I am a life-long snowmobiler and the first time I rode a Spyder I was right at home.
Enjoy your trip. I think you will really enjoy yourself.

We have had an absolutely abysmal winter up here in Maine. Very little snow this year and I've only had my sled out twice for a grand total of 360 miles. We're going out this weekend as we did get some snow this past week, but this will be the last hurrah. I've had Spyder fever all winter as a result.

We live in northern NY and have had spyder fever all winter long. I can't wait for the details of Spyders in the Smokies 2010. We had a blast last year.

Our last big storm is almost gone, just melting snow/slat/sand left in a few places. My spyder had been in the garage since last November and it is so pulled apart that if we were to get a warn day it would take me too long to put it back together to go for a ride. I hope by the end of this month we will see some 50's 60's and by then all the work should be done.

I am undecided what to take for a ride today. I am going up on Tug Hill Tomorrow riding the sled but taking the Spyder out today for a short ride as my driveway is dry.

WAITING........ Had a great day to ride the new RTS day after I got it. Was on my way to Kentucky, but got called into work. Now Monday falls under the 50/50 rule so shooting for it..and have NO plans to answer the phone what so ever. Need to get 600 miles on the RTS so I can do the first service before I head out on my trip in April. Lets keep our fingers crossed so we can get som riding weather in.

What a great day to be up on Tug Hill. It was sunny all day and loads of sleds out. Some of the trails were groomed to perfection while others had not been groomed. Anyway I hope to get out on the spyder tomorrow again. Here is a link to the pics of today's ride from the Montague Inn.

Glad you guys got out. I started up the Spyder, but my driveway is a mess and I didn't want to deal with the mud.
