replacemnt key is less tha $30 from dealer, but you have to take it to get it cut, then the dealer will reprogram all of your keys. If you loose all of your keys then the anti theft device has to be replaced and that IS probably $125-150 at least. I have the key holster on a neck strap along with the bag keyad a thumb drive with all my emercency data. Works well for me.

This is my first reply to any discussion, so hope I'm not messing something up.

My Spyder is really my daughter's, which I am holding for her until she gets some leave time from the Navy as she's at sea right now. Anyway, I was concerned that the key does not have a hole in it to put it on a ring. I took a picture of a key that had a leather cover added with a key ring at the end to someone who makes things out of leather. Using that as a guide, he made this black leather holder for my daughter's Spyder key. It really does the job!

Just one other idea on how to work through this issue....

From Arthur---Mexico City,
My Spy has been giving me a fit going into the Limp Mode now 4 times for no apparent reason. thge Spy mechanic with his trusty laptop and that BUDS modulecould not fix it at my home so it was carted away. the mechanic told me that the key should not be left in it when not being uesd, that it should be removed and kept at least 32" away from the Spy. He said that leaving the key in the Spy runs down the battery. Is this BS or not?

I have a2010 spyder, and never take the key out. No problem.
