It is the easiest unit out there to use, just turn it on and go.
The only thing I have noticed is the range is not as good as some of the other units we have tried.

I want to know, has any one bought scala rider??It is bluetooth connected to helmet set. I saw it at supercheap auto. It looks like a great technology.
Have the Scala Rider Q2, owned for many years. Works great as a helmet-to-helmet intercom system, and also connects to other MONO bluetooth devices (cellphone, GPS, etc). Only shortcoming that I see is the relative transmission distance between devices - less than a quarter mile, unobstructed. Sounds like a nit, but if you are riding in a group it's easy to get more than 1/4 mile apart.
The Q2's are reasonably priced because the newer model is out that has STEREO bluetooth and a much greater transmission range (closer to a mile). But the new features come at a higher price.

I too have the Scala 2...works fine.
Let's put it this way...I used to casually catch the odd, good lookin' passerby with no audible comment from my 'bride' of many years.
Now, she quietly alerts me via the Scala even before I notice and says, "Just keep yer eyes on the road sweetie."
Oh yeah...the Scala works just fine...

I have the G-4 sitting on my desk in front of me right now. As soon as I catch up on a few winter reviews I will be installing this unit in my test helmets and checking them out.

Unless your N-com was made by cardo-scala(?), then I would say no. The G4 is backwards compatible to older cardo-scala systems but not to other vendors.
