if any one has had problems with the se5 gear changing, the first time was the oil was to thin. [this was the run in oil] so the mechanic put a thicker oil in witch fixed the gear selecting problem that was about 4 months ago and i have a 1000kms on the bike. now over the weekend it wouldn't select first, and the revs would rise up and down but would not select first. so rang the mechanic and apparently its become a problem to some se5 motorcycles. and the fix is they run a earth strap from the shifter solenoid to a good earth point on the frame. [dose this make sens?] to any auto electricians out there. and thanks to Spyder Ryder care road side assist its on its way to get the fix.

Yes it makes sense. There was a service bulletin on it. Most the Spyders here in the states have already had the Ground (Earth) strap installed.
