Marc,
I'm just posting this to get opinions/comments. I would like to see a Toy For Tots run during our Spyders In The Smokies 2010. My idea would be to have any/all spyder riders/attendees bring a toy to the BBQ/Awards Banquet at the end of our rally. I realize that Toys For Tots is a local event across the United States, however I feel that this would/could be good public relations for Spyder Riders/Spyder Nation. If this request is favorable/acceptable, I will be at your disposal to set it up.

I think it's a good idea. I'd support it

I like the idea of using the Rally to help a cause. My only question is one of logistics. Since most attendees come for the week and pack tight, will it be practical for folks to bring a toy and keep it until the Friday BBQ?

Thanks Marc. You brought up a very good issue. I myself on Friday on my way to the BBQ/Awards Banquet would stop at a store to purchase a toy.

How about offering a seperate / optional donation signup on the registration page? That way no one would have to worry about bringing or picking up a toy. Also, Spydertalk would be able to make a large donation on behalf of the participating Spyder Ryders (Or go buy a ton of toys). I know if something like that was done. The local Marines representing "Toys for Tots" would come to the BBQ to accept the donation.

That could work with the other charties that are being discussed as well.

Just sharing my thoughts.
