Hey Marc!!
You know I was thinking that a year apart from rally in Gatlinburg is a very long time. Has anyone ever thought of doing 2 rallies there a year? Maybe I'm just anxious for next year but 182 days apart sounds alot better than 365 2 vacations a year there would suit me just fine, or maybe 3....I sometimes wonder down for winterfest, the light and parade are great!!
Just a thought
Donna
p.s. It would give Steve something to do also...LOL besides giving out free spyder rides!!

Just my opinion, but two rallies a year in one location might be going to the well once too often. Also, organizing these events is a lot of work, especially for folks who already hold down full-time jobs. However, a second rally at a yet to be determined location is certainly food for thought, as long as someone other than Marc and Craig could step up to shoulder the lion's share of the work!

After having been involved with the Gatlinburg rally for two years, and especially this year, having a second one in the same year would be interesting. One would need to find some sponsors, and even then, one had better have a sizable stash of cash to pull it off. Also a few volunteers that will pay their expenses and devote 14 to 16 hour work days for the event.

Well, I do believe I have opened up a can of spyders!! It was just a thought and maybe I should keep them to myself. Harleys riders have several a year and I thought(...there I am thinking again)that maybe 2 a year would be food for thought. As far as volunteers, I'm sure all one would have to do is ask. I work at the post office and out of my garage putting together mining equipment, i'm sure I could find some time to do volunteer work. Oh well....next time I keepa my mouth shut!!!

What about if you do like the college kids do - they go to Mexico for spring break for a couple days, do a spring break "fling" here - not a full week, what about 3 days - whether or not you go do wet t-shirt contest and dance on bar tops - well, thats up to you. Spring here is beautiful, do something simple and for just a few days.? just an idea

I will amen to this! I organize motorcycle rally events and agree that it is a lot of work. It doesn't just happen year round. There are a lot of things to cover like staff, schedule, phone calls/email filled with repeatedly questions and taking time to talk with new clients, sponsors, preparing sites, oversee things, clean-up, thanking staff/volunteers, etc.
