After our BBQ and Awards ceremony on Friday, Dennis (Tharkun) and I went to visit Burl in the hospital and give him the card and donations. For those that don't know, Burl and Betty had crashed on the Tail of the Dragon on Thursday. Both came off their Spyder. Betty was not hurt other than some bruises, but Burl has a dislocated hip and some damage to his knee. He is doing well and hopes to be out of the hospital in a day or two. Betty was very appreciative of all the support and well wishes folks gave her at the BBQ.
Betty and Burl are the first two people in this RT video I shot about an hour before their crash. You won't meet nicer people in this world and we are all thankful they will be ok.
...and Spyder karma was at work when Betty's raffle ticket was pulled from a bucket and she won a $100 BRP gift certificate.
I spoke with Betty and Burl by phone this afternoon and the physician had just visited. Burl will be on limited weight bearing for a while but should be fully recovered in 4 months. He was talking, laughing, and seemed in good spirits! They were so thankful to all that have helped them during this ordeal. Betty said "I don't know what I would have done without everyone's help. We love you all."
They are wonderful people. I wish Burl a speedy recovery
Amen to that, Tony.

I spoke with both Betty and Burl on Wednesday and they are doing very well! He had a doctor's appointment this past Friday and was supposed to be set up to begin physical therapy. He is expected to make a full recovery in about 4 months. They were both as chatty as could be and talking about the 2010 Rally! I am so glad he's enthused about riding again.

Good to hear! Thanks for the update.
