We've started a forum for all SpyderTalkers to follow our progress testing the new Spyder RT.

I'll be heading to Valcourt, Quebec tomorrow (9/8) to participate in the Spyder RT Launch Press event and will be riding our test RT home on Thursday.

We'll be posting all of our testing information on the RT in this forum, along with pics of the RT from our group rides in Western, NY and Spyders In The Smokies.

If you have any questions that you want me to try to get answered while I'm in Quebec, post them here or send me a PM and I'll try to get them answered.

We also plan to host a RT Q&A chat session on Sunday night so we can give our first impressions real-time. More details to follow....

That's it... Check back often for updates, pictures, and riding impressions.

Being tall at 6'6", I am wondering if there is a method of lowering the driver pegs and brake on the automatics and or the ability to add highway pegs.

Still drooling over the RT.

A couple of items to be confirmed:
  • The 3 soft bags for the cases and the wheeled soft bag for the trunk are a standard option on the RT-S.
  • Where does the optional spare tire for the RT 622 mount/store ?
  • Will the CB module/antenna be an option from BRP, and will/is it BRP specific, as in no other sources for it ?
  • Info on the XM unit, I assume the XM antenna is provided in the RT ?

Thanks Craig, have a safe trip.

Just spoke with Craig. He arrived at the 2010 Spyder media event near Montreal late this afternoon. He has talked with writers from Rider, RoadRUNNER and Automobile magazines...looks like the new RT will be getting some great press.

from the picts i've seen it is not a air shock . the shock and coil over spring is like the ones on the gs. with an additionall air boot attached to the swing arm in front of the shock for ride and hight adjustment dont know if we can adapt it for ours heres the pict i was looking for see the coil over shock in front of the air ride boot

I rather doubt it, think it is more involved that just the shock, would appear it wound need the RT software as well. :TgC_emoticon142:

I would be surprised if any of the major changes to the RT line would adapt to the 2008/2009 models, as we have more info the answers should become apparent.

the rod or control arm next to the boot allways controls the amount of air in the boot so when you set the desierd hight and firmness and you are riding it will adjust it for pressure constantly so you feel like your riding on air not on a bumpy road . dont fear though this is not new tec, same set up as big trucks
peterbilt, kenworth. if you ever notice a big truck going down the road and the cab and modulare sleeper is bouncing up and down looks uncomfortable , nope those folks feel like there riding on a cushion of air . cant wait to ride my RT-S
