First, I purchased a new console from KewlMetal which allows you to attach a number of devices. I have my GPS, a cup holder, and my stereo all clustered around the console. I moved the cup holder to the left side after I bought the stereo
I purchased a Shark 250 watt system from GoodDeals18.com. I mounted the amplifier in the trunk and mounted the unit on my console using a KewlMetal bracket. I mounted my speakers on the front fenders. Unit comes with a remote
The unit has a trailing wire antenna which I don't particularly like but you can plug an iPod into the Aux port which is what I do. Sound is excellent. You can buy an optional subwoofer if you want

Rider to rider communications are real good, and I prefer the variety of the satelite radio over pre-recorded tunes.
The one negative is that the passenger get interrupt the radio to "yap".

All right now.... that was way too freakin' cool. I really love the speaker pods. I was actually starting to think up an idea for some kind of pods where the mirrors are. And move the mirrors to bar ends. However the bike is in the shop for now, so i'll have to wait a little longer to start on that idea. I do have few ideas as far as getting audio, either from my gps or iphone. Or both mods can be done easily. Thx for some ideas and the pics. Very nice job on all the mods. Stay up on the inspirations.

IRISH...I CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR POST GOT BY ME.
The ad says Original price $1299.00 - sales price $129.99, a saving of $1170.00. I know of places where you need gloves to touch the mechandise, and they still charge more than 10 cents on the dollar, if it still has the serial numbers. 90% off is a RED FLAG.

I'v got the Shark 250 watt system, too. I don't think I believe the "original" price, but the system works well. It's sold for the same price ($129) on Amazon, but they do not include the remote in that price.
I have the unit and speakers tucked in nicely under the hood of my Corbin Fleetliner fairing, and the remote affixed to the console for easy reach. In the pic, you see the universal mounting bracket to the left of the console - to that I added an iphone holster, and I can run a cord from my iphone to the input jack on the front of the Shark unit and listen to my ipod... AND I have Navigon GPS on my iphone, and I can run that simultaneously of my music playing, and the talking directions come thru the speakers, too, can hear it great even over the music. It's a sweet set-up.

If you have the subwoofer for the Shark, where did you mount it and how well does it work?

After having the Shark for three months, I became increasingly dissatisfied with it. The plug-in connections in the rear are loose and I keep losing power and my right speaker. Switching modes was a chore. Display deteriorated so that I only get partial characters. BUT, I knew it was cheap and I was getting what I paid for.
After doing some additional research, I ordered the Jensen JHD910 ($200) but it looks to be a much better unit. Can still use my Shark amp and my speakers. The JHD has a much improved antenna option (I never did like the trailing wire antenna on the Shark). It also has a NOAA weatherband channel
