I have had mine for about 3 months, not a lot of miles though about 2,000miles. I am quite happy with it. The speed only varies about 1 mph going up hills, it kicks in fairly smoothly on acceleration. I do have a little bit of a problem sometimes with the resume. Even though I lubricated my throttle cables as instructed - I feel the throttle twist is a wee bit stiffer than before the c/c install. The install was explained quite well but still is a long process. The set up I was sent had the wrong mounting bracket for the SM5, but I find it works better with my set up as it now sits above the the left left hand clamp as opposed to under it (I had already trimmed off some of the reverse tab to install my Zumo mount). Overall I really like the unit on the highway and my GF rides it most of the time now and loves the C/C. Just set aside plenty of time for the install. I also inform any service personal of the unit and of the magnets on the rear wheel hub so the don't knock them off and lose them. Here are some pics, you will just have to pic through to see the MCC ones. Unfortunately I didn't finish photographing the install. MCC.
