This is by no means a bashing question. I have a poll already rolling on reliability. I want a very specific variable because the one worst thing is a breakdown that force you to get off the bike and find another means of transportation. This is in my opinion the one most frustrating and potentially dangerous situation... And i want a spyder, it's just here in Quebec we only have 4-5 months a year to ride... therefore, i must take it to go to work. If i get stranded ONCE going to work... it would be a major MAJOR situation at work... lets just say poeples lives could be affected by me not getting to work.. SO I CAN'T LIVE WITH THAT... I understand that this is a RECREATIONAL vehicule, but i don't think on a ST1300 or FJ1300 i will get stranded going to work...

SO THANKS IN ADVANCE...

PLEASE SPECIFY 2008 AND 2009, AND MANUEL OR AUTOMATIC (wich seem to have more problems)..

SORRY, LAST MINUTE CHANGE..

Yes but.....Thats a very small sampling of owners.
Let's get some more votes before we make any assumptions. :TgC_emoticon142:

It's very difficult to have valid data on how, when, why and how many problems there are, that would take a 4 page questionnaire with sub categories etc... here, we can't even say if the manuel or automatics are more prone to problems.. the only thing we can say is in general what are the chances of not getting to where you are going at least once..

But , it's informative, and i thank everyone who's participating..

I just hope somehow, it will give BRP a boot in the $*& to up there reliability... but i know a lot of you out there don't have problems, so please vote also..

:)

I have a 08 SE5 and its left me sitting in the middle of a busy intersection in the middle of christmas rush last year I had to get it towed to shop I was so pissed off this was just two months after I had bought it. but they fixed it it was the recall thing gear position sensor and some resortter spring or somthing like that and its ran fantastic since then I also have a stage 1 kit on mine and just got the evoluzion O2 sensor last Sat and did my own oil change and then we went for 3hour ride it ran fine only backfired once outta the exhaust pipe and once outta the throttlebodys and then it ran fine the rest of the trip no backfires at all. sure some may have probs but for the most part mine has not givin me any probs. especially since the stranding incident happend. This is by far the best 21k I have ever spent on a recreational vehicle in my entire life, I have so much fun on it and it brings me so much joy and stress relief. I woudnt change a thing. and would and have recomended one to everyone I come in contact with In fact BRP outta pay me for all the personal advertising me and my couple of other spyder riding buddys I have we was just talking about that day before yesterday. everywere I go when I come out of werever Iam at theres usually always somone standing around it ready to ask me 40 ??'s hehe U should buy one it is definatly somthing u wont regret. ask anyone that owns one well most anyone lol

Well,,,,,Ive never been Stranded(so to speak) but have had problems.....Once at 300 miles the Radiator hose Popped off and Spewed Coolant everywhere....Luckily I was only 1 mile from my Honda Shop So I pushed it in and we got her fixed there in about an hour....The second,,,,The Steering locked up on me while passing a car...approx. 7500 miles..On the pipe I might add :riding: after I got it home I put it on the Trailer and took it to the Spyder Shop in Redding...LOVE THOSE GUYS!!!!!!!...The 3rd was the steering again at 8300 miles...They then replaced the WHOLE STEERING UNIT..I now have 10,400 miles on it and Still Smiling

I would have voted but I couldnt find the right spot to check :beerchug1:

Mine left me stranded on may 7th, 2009. Oil cooler blew up, clutch went out, and noise in motor not so good. Still in the shop

I've been stranded once but you didn't show the option of a brand new bike!
