Just wanting to see if I was over charged for my 600 mile service looking to see what it cost in other states since NM only has 2 dealers that sell and servcie Sypders and there owned by same person.

Had everything the maintenance schedule asks for, plus issue with brake squeak, some missing screws on plastic cover under set above tire and a vibration issue between 48 and 53 mph. My total cost was $339.49.

Every thing corrected except brake squeak, looks like I will need to get the de-squeak stuff that was mentioned on this site.

$115.21 Parts, $190.40 Labor, $15.23 other and $18.65 in tax. And estimate for 12000 mile service they said will run between $1600 and $2200?? Don't know why there could be a $600 difference on the estimate. Looks like I will be purchasing a servcie repair manual and only have dealer do the computer and more technical stuff.

Wonder if BRP's ski doo, sea doo and ATV's are this expensive for maintenance??

Well my first service only cost me like 240 and they installed my new hand grips for me for free...iam not really sure how much the 12000 service cost but that sounds kinda high... I talk to my service tech and he said that they are out of there mind.. its should cost like 350 for the labor and then plus parts.. he also said he has a guy that has over 36000miles on his spyder and hasnt paid more then 450 for service's..

here in my part of the world, labor rates are at $90 a hour
we charge 200 plus parts on motorcycles for first service, out the door 260 ish
spyders we charge 250 plus parts on se models 225 on sm, plus parts
se have extra filter for trans and both models harder to work on and more of a hassle factor than 2 wheel bikes
we do more than just a oil change at first service
check over all the systems on the bike from head to toe
i always get the complaint 'WHAT! THAT KINDA OF MONEY FOR A OIL CHANGE!'
well the last time i took the wifes van in for a engine light, they charged me 75 bucks just to read the codes!
most dealers and i am one are not out there to rip people off
i been at mine for over 18 years, see the same people/friends over and over
i shoot em straight and tell the truth,
its just the cost of doing buisness
i give them the option of doing the work themselves and instuct them as best as i can

I just had my 600 mile service done this week. It came to a total of $141, including the oil that can am recommended which is $10 a quart. Don't sound to bad to me all things considered.

Let's see the 600 mile was $150 plus $35 parts. I also bought a belly tank bag which was way too much for what it is. I got a second seat bag and it lasted less than 6 months and was all frayed and ugly looking. I complained and they gave me a new one free. It too is frayed already. The manager looked at it and said that figures it is from China! I am only putting it on the bike when I need it and it is sitting in the shop till then. People seem very willing to pay exhorbitant prices for things they put on the motorcycles! $3500 for Corbin seats and bags for a Spyder! You have got to be kidding me? Bill

Just had my 600 service done. $104 in parts (filters, oil, etc) and $175 labor -- total $279. Seems reasonable to me.

You may be blessed with a dealer that checked the Spyder from top to bottom to make sure all was OK.........................................or........................

I don't have a Dealer close by, so I really have to do everything on my own. Besides it makes the wife feel safer. I bought Rotella 5w-40 for 20.00 bucks, a filter off ebay for $8 bucks and $3 bucks for 90* fittings on the upper control arms for ease of lubrication. Total was $31.00 and now will see if the Can-am survives till the warranty runs out
